Jean Theuma - What is Academic English? With increasing numbers of students interested in taking internationally recognised exams for entering university, such as Academic IELTS, the market for teaching academic English is expanding. In this session, Jean will look at how academic English is different from general English. The session will also explore exam tasks and include ways to develop the writing and speaking skills which are so crucial for these types of exams.
Larissa Jonk – Teaching Academic English online Teaching remotely has become a regular activity for many teachers in the past year. Following up from Jean’s session, Larissa will focus on a practical session using Zoom, Padlet, and Google Docs for synchronous training in speaking and writing, drawing on her own experience teaching academic English.
