July 2005 Evan Frendo

On 12th July 2005 Summertown Publishing, in collaboration with MATEFL, launched the next level (Pre-Intermediate) of the new international multi level business English coursebook Double Dealing.

The event was very well attended and Evan Frendo, the co-author of the book introduced the management and staff of the fictional Grand Hotel Pelleas, whose trials and tribulations make up the story which runs through the book.
The rationale behind the various sections of the units was discussed and experienced.  One section which particularly interested and amused those present was the cross-cultural focus which highlighted some local customs and behavior which might appear strange to people of other cultures, and draws attention to the need to be aware of such cultural differences in order not to commit some unforgivable blunder and perhaps even jeopardise  business  relationships.
This event provided an excellent opportunity to meet the publishers and co-author Evan Frendo to discuss the book further whilst enjoying drinks and canapes.
The pictures below show Evan Frendo surrounded by members after the presentation and signing copies of the book.
