Membership
Membership is valid for a period of 12 months starting in the month the membership card was issued. For example, a membership would be valid from the month of joining /renewing to the following year e.g. June 2025 to June 2026
Details of each membership type:
Full rate membership: €25
Applicable to renewals of all members under 65.
First-time members: €15
Applicable to first-time members of MATEFL. Any new MATEFL member is eligible for a 1-year discounted membership fee of €15. Thereafter, membership is renewed at €25 (€15 for over 65).
Mature membership: €15
Applicable to members who are over 65. ID cards should be shown on application (in the case of face-to-face events) or a scanned copy of the front of the ID card or information page of the passport (in the case of online application). Once a member has been verified as a Mature member, they do not need to show a copy of their ID card on renewal.
[For reasons of GDPR, digital copies of ID cards/passports will be destroyed once they have been verified.]
School membership: €75 + €15 for additional teachers
Applicable to schools who wish to take advantage of bulk membership application. Schools can apply for 5 teachers at €75 Euro, any teachers in addition to the first 5 are charged at the concession rate of €15, this includes teachers who would normally pay full rate. School memberships can only be applied for by the school and not by individual teachers. Schools should send payment as a lump sum. Membership is not transferable.

2. Cheques - payment by cheque, payable to MATEFL, is only available at face-to-face events.
Please note that the bank does not accept cheques of less than €20.01.
Membership cards can be collected at the door during a MATEFL event for payment options 1.
